Audience

​Drug and alcohol use in the workplace creates a dangerous situation not just for employees struggling with substance abuse, but for their coworkers and management as well. Our NYC SST-302 2-Hour Drugs and Alcohol Awareness for Construction course prepares participants to better understand signs of drug and alcohol abuse at work, how to address these issues, and workplace strategies for prevention. This course also offers voice authentication (VA) proctoring to meet NYC Local Law 196 requirements for Drugs and Alcohol Awareness training. 
This NYC SST-302 2-Hour drugs and alcohol awareness course for construction addresses a wide range of important topics in drug and alcohol abuse awareness, including:

This online safety course is based on the New York City Local Law 196 of 2017 course requirements for 2 Hours of Drugs and Alcohol Awareness training for individuals applying for a Site Safety Training (SST) Card. Eligible participants include:
  • Construction and demolition workers

  • Site safety coordinators and managers
  • Competent persons
  • Journey persons
  • Forepersons

Features & Benefits

​After taking this course, participants will be prepared to recognize signs of substance abuse in the workplace, understand the harmful effects of drugs and alcohol, and implement recognition, avoidance and prevention strategies to address substance use disorders on the job. Additionally, each course participant will receive:
  • 2 hours of training from a NYC DOB-approved vendor that applies toward LL196 course requirements for use toward an approved SST card, including voice-authenticated proctoring
  • 2 Continuing Education Unit from an accredited IACET provider
  • A certificate of completion
To successfully complete NYC SST-302 2-Hour Drugs and Alcohol Awareness for Construction, you must complete each knowledge checkpoint with a minimum score of 70%, complete all course materials, and fill out the evaluation form provided at the end of the course.

NYC 8HR FALL PREVENTION for CONSTRUCTION

Overview & Objectives

Audience

​Each year, thousands of construction workers are injured on the job due to falls. To help reduce these incidents and enhance job site safety, New York City’s Department of Buildings (NYC DOB) created additional fall hazard standards to supplement those established by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). The NYC SST-307 8-Hour Fall Prevention for Construction course provides extensive training on fall hazard identification, evaluation, prevention, and more to adhere to all federal and NYC Local Law 196 regulations regarding worksite falls.
NOTICE: New York City Local Law 196 (LL196) of 2017 specifies that, as part of the course requirements for 8-Hour Fall Prevention, trainees demonstrate wearing generic fall protection equipment.
Our online training program is approved by the NYC Department of Buildings to satisfy the Site Safety Training (SST) requirements. However, we recommend that employees work with their employers to ensure that trainees taking this course have the opportunity to put on, take off, and safely use the protective equipment required for use on the job, learn about other project specific fall protection and ask questions specific to the project.

​The NYC SST-307 8-Hour Fall Prevention for Construction online course is based on the New York City Local Law 196 of 2017 course requirements for 8 hours of Fall Prevention training for individuals applying for a Site Safety Training (SST) Card. Individuals who should take this course include:

  • A certificate of completion
  • 8 hours of training from a DOB-approved vendor that applies to LL196 requirements for approved Site Safety Training (SST), including voice-authenticated proctoring
  • 8 Continuing Education Unit from an accredited IACET provider
To receive a certificate of completion, you must complete all course materials, receive a minimum score of 70% at each knowledge checkpoint, and complete the course evaluation.
